Shopify buildsthat convert.

Custom themes, headless storefronts and apps. Four years building the parts of Shopify that agencies outsource — shipped fast, kept clean, and measured against sales rather than screenshots.

Platform depth

Shopify has four surfaces.I build on all of them.

Most developers who say they do Shopify mean themes. These are genuinely different skill sets, and knowing where a problem belongs is usually half of solving it.

  1. 01

    Storefront

Themes and headless builds — custom sections a merchandiser can rearrange without a developer, or a Hydrogen front end when a theme genuinely runs out of room.

    Checkout

The part most agencies leave alone. Extensions and Functions that change what buyers see and how discounts, shipping and validation actually behave.

    • Functions
    • Branding API
  3. 03

    Admin

Embedded apps for the workflow no listing fits, built inside Shopify where the team already works rather than as one more dashboard to log into.

    Data

The modelling underneath: custom fields and objects that give a catalogue structure, and webhooks keeping the rest of the business in step with it.

Your role

2024 — Present

I build Shopify stores that still hold up a year after launch. Most of my work starts where a theme runs out — custom sections, headless storefronts, and the awkward integrations nobody else wants to own.

I care more about what a store earns than how it photographs. A redesign that loads slower than the thing it replaced is not a redesign. I measure the work against checkout completion and page speed, and I will tell you when a feature is not worth its weight.

I work directly with founders, not through three layers of account management. That means you talk to the person writing the code, decisions happen in a day rather than a sprint, and nothing gets lost being relayed.

Our theme finally loads in under two seconds on mobile. Same catalogue, same photography — he just knew where the weight was hiding.

He shipped the B2B portal we had been quoted six figures for. It went live in five weeks.

Moving four thousand SKUs off WooCommerce sounded terrifying. We lost neither a single URL nor a day of trading.

Ida Brenner

Founder of Fernweh

He tells you when a feature is not worth building. That has saved us more than the build itself did.

Paul Hendriks

Our subscription setup was a pile of workarounds. He replaced it with something our support team stopped complaining about.
